ask4 secures second university contract
ask4 is celebrating after being chosen by a top university to provide internet services to its student halls of residence.
The leading independent supplier of broadband Internet services to providers of student accommodation across the UK, ask4, has secured the contract to deliver its service to Leicester’s De Montfort University’s halls of residence.
Currently providing over 3,000 outlets to privately owned student accommodation in Leicester, ask4 will now supply a total of 454 beds at Bede Hall and New Wharf Hall with super-fast internet and value-added services such as Internet Protocol Television (IPTV).
Matt Eley, operations director at ask4, said: “Having established itself in the private landlord sector, we see this as the ask4’s next big growth market as more universities seek to outsource their services. The university wanted a more customer focused solution for students and we are able to provide the high quality service they require.”
“Last year we secured a contract with Sheffield Hallam University’s halls of residence, so to be providing another leading university with our services is a great indication of how we are continually expanding as a company.”
The educational sector is a key driver for ask4, a privately owned company with offices in Sheffield, and in the past 12 months the company has increased its student client base from 20,000 to 34,000.
Martin Wrigley, Housing Manager at De Montfort University, said:
“ask4’s internet packages represent excellent value for money and we believe that their services provide the best match with the requirements of both the institution and its students.
“This is the first time that the university has outsourced its internet services, and we felt that it was a good way to increase the level and quality of internet packages offered to our students.”
The company’s package includes a 2mb internet service with an upgrade capacity of 10mb, high speed internet packages up to 50Mb/s, instant broadband and no download limits.
