Student Accommodation Conference 2017

On 7th December, the ASK4 team were in Birmingham for the Student Accommodation Conference and Awards.

The event gathered over 800 universities, operators, developers, investors and innovators to discuss key themes surrounding the student accommodation sector, including Brexit, sustainability and the development pipeline.

ASK4 founder and CEO, Jonathan Burrows, hosted a popular session in the Student Experience Zone exploring the key findings from ASK4’s Connected Living Report with panelists Brian Welsh (CEO, The Nido Collection), Caroline Young (Director of Student Plus, Queen’s University Belfast) and Stewart Moore (Commercial and Marketing Director, CRM Students).

The Student Experience Zone was hosted by Tim Daplyn, Director at Red Brick Research, and it was standing room only as the panel looked at the connected living expectations and demands of the students of 2020, and how this will impact both university operated and private purpose built student accommodation developments.

You can download your copy of the Connected Living Report here and please do get in touch if you would like to discuss the report with a member of the team.

The day concluded with the Student Accommodation Awards, where ASK4 was delighted to receive the Innovation of the Year award for 4Network. 4Network forms a unique part of ASK4’s network infrastructure and has been developed over a number of years in direct response to the changing connectivity demands of current and future students. The judges praised ASK4 for "taking a new approach to meeting a real need" and you can read about 4Network and its significance for the student accommodation sector here.

Our thanks to Property Week and all the event sponsors for hosting another successful and insightful conference, and congratulations to Andy from Midas who won the iPad on the ASK4 exhibtion stand!
