Highlights from 2016

As another year draws to a close, we've been thinking about our 2016 highlights. Here are just a few.

Quote of the Year

Speaking at this year's Student Accommodation Conference, Nick Porter of Global Student Accommodation said, "WiFi is like oxygen to today's students." We couldn't have put it better ourselves. In our experience, most student users would rather have you turn off the water than lose their internet connection.

The Class of 2020

Yet again The Class Conference brought together a host of student accommodation and education professionals from across Europe for a fascinating two day event.  This included a panel discussion featuring ASK4 MD, Jonathan Burrows, on how technology will impact student housing and lifestyles. The whole discussion was broadcast live via Periscope and can be found here.

ASK4 in Europe

ASK4's presence in Europe continues to grow at pace and in 2016 this included a partnership with new-to-the-market German student accommodation brand Staytoo. Speaking of the partnership, Marco Lotichius, Head of Marketing and Brand Management for MPC Capital commented:

“We need to offer super-fast internet connectivity everywhere in our properties so students can hang out and watch movies on demand, or stream music without any problems. To achieve this, a fast and reliable internet connection is not a fancy add-on, it is a compelling necessity.”

The ASK4 Support App

ASK4 App Screens

Launched this Summer, the ASK4 support app offers users a quick and easy way to find troubleshooting guides and connect with the team. Look out for further app developments in 2017.

4Challenge

We couldn't complete a round up of 2016 without mentioning 4Challenge. Founded by ASK4 Director Jon Thornhill, 4Challenge has now raised over £70,000 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity in just two years, and the team are all set to add to this total next year.

A huge thank you to all our partners and clients for another successful year. Here's to 2017!
