This role will predominantly be working on projects in Germany.


Job Purpose

Project Engineer role for a portfolio of EU and UK large provisioning projects.

This role will predominantly be working on projects in Germany.

Responsibilities of the job

  • Deliver large provisioning projects via the provisioning project process

  • Technical responsibility for the planning and implementation of provisioning projects, reporting and communicating with key stakeholders, internal and external parties at all levels

  • Attend site based project meetings with contractors and clients as required to assist with project management and scheduling.

  • Site surveys to cover internal and 3rd party products as required to complete any project

  • Preparation of quotes (Cost Analysis) and BOMs (Bill of materials) for each project

  • Preparation of work packs for ASK4 and sub contracted installation teams

  • Requesting required stock in reasonable time for delivery

  • Complete all necessary documentation in line with the Provisioning and Project Engineering standards

  • Working with the engineering, installation teams and sub contractors to ensure the smooth delivery

  • Carry out on-site quality assurance checks during site installations abroad

  • Carry out on-site service commissioning and technical escalations during site installations abroad

  • Lead and support ASK4 and sub contracted installation teams during site installations abroad

  • Support ASK4 installation teams during site installs across the UK

  • Awareness of Health and Safety policies, ensuring adherence at all times

  • Assisting the Health and Safety Manager with country specific health and safety matters

  • Assisting management with the sourcing and on-boarding of sub contractors and fibre/Ethernet/wireless providers as required

  • Support other internal departments and take part in cross-functional teams as required by management

  • Any other duties, as reasonably requested from time to time by your line manager or any other manager

  • Line Management - Project Engineering Manager

  • Health and Safety Authority - Health and Safety and Field Operations Manager

  • Technical Guidance - Project Engineering Manager

  • Technical Authority - Enterprise Architect and Technology Team

Principle accountabilities / key results areas

  • Deliver projects on time and to KPIs

  • Deliver projects within budget

Other information

Adherence to Ask4's policies and procedures, including, but not limited to all the relevant Information Security and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Report any health and safety breaches or concerns in order to assist the company in preventing future accidents/incidents.
Ensure you carry out your work in an environmentally responsible manner and inline with environmental policies and procedures.

Skills and attributes required

  • Dynamic and enthusiastic self-starter

  • Solid team player

  • Flexibility to accommodate peaks in workload, particularly during August and October, including weekends and outside of normal hours.

  • Ability to work outside the UK, predominantly in Germany but also in other European countries



  • High standard of written and oral communication in English and German

  • Ability to produce appropriate requirements/technical documentation for Projects

  • Strong communication skills on both a technical and non-technical level

  • Ability to conduct investigation and analysis of customer needs

  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision

  • Minimum 2 years technical business experience

  • Managing conflicting priorities

  • Wireless and Wired LAN and/or WAN deployment or support

  • Knowledge of structured data cabling (UTP copper, fibre)

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks


  • Dealing with high level managers internally and externally



  • IT qualification

  • Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel to a high level (or Google Sheets)

  • Fully computer literate

  • Linux experience


  • Data cabling qualification

  • Degree or equivalent

  • IT related further or higher education qualification

  • CCNA or equivalent

  • CWNA or equivalent
